Traveling without moving

Haven’t flown from one continent to another in ages and didn’t really remember how long it actually takes. 15 hours of flying, 1 change and some delays and the whole trip adds up to.. well let’s just say enough hours anyway. Some moments ago we passed through Greenland. Nice view. Watched E Wall, saw some ocean, slept a little, woke up and saw more frozen ocean. I hope the captain isn’t suicidal and just circling around the northern hemisphere. He sounded like a Mexican so I’m hoping he wants to die somewhere warm.

I don’t know if it’s the reduced oxygen onboard, a small bottle of wine or the awful movie Hancock, but I feel like on horse tranquilaisers. Nothing seems to create motions. Or maybe I just starting realize that I’m flying 36 000 feet of the ground at the speed of 0.82 Mach and every second takes me further away from this thing called home.

Still ice. I think the global warming is a pile of bullshit. Hmm, that was one of those irresposible comments that I need to look out for. To make up for it I’ll mention a positive thing about the meals on board. France Air used only plastic around the main course. Everything else was served from reusable cups. Even the forks and knives where some sort of metal. That wasn’t the case with Finair when I flew to France. Shame on them alhough I did have the best onboard breakfast on that flight. (note: I still think these companies use WAY too much plastic.)

Still ice. I think it’s time to have something to drink and see a movie. My mind is too out there to read some Latin America history. Wall E was an excellent movie but in some level it made me feel guilty about sitting on an airplane and not respecting enough of the fact that is possible to change continents in less than a day.
